Poem for book

a heartbreak never present
gifted to a loyal rider; a loyal carer; a loyal friend
a bond between a horse and his man
a pure and lucid love

the smell of leather and sweat thick
a destination to ecstasy
fulfilled by any distance traveled
a pure and tenacious love

gait matched by heartbeat
tears don’t belong in the wind
no need to smile
a pure and perpetual love

The sunshine is thick enough to cut with a knife
the rain drinks up the dry
storm clouds are nothing more than beautiful
on his back
a pure and wild love

Derby

The experience I need to portray through a book is riding a horse, but what a lot of people don't realize is that the experience is half process and half actually riding the horse. The process is the same every time you do it except the riding part. I just need to figure out what kind of book best shows that. I am thinking maybe something that folds a lot and you unfold it into the main picture of someone riding!

I found some good websites to show how to make an interesting book.

Experience through a book

So our new project is representing an experience through a book. I am torn between the ideas of smoking Hookah and riding a horse. I can see how both of the ideas would have really good ways to represent them but I just can't decide which one I would have the most fun doing. I can come back form spring break with my experience of the horse, and for thursday I can have the experience of hookah done.

Tree hunting

Today in class we started our new project that is focused on drawing. I am really excited for the project though because we are designing tree houses! There is nothing not fun about that and I am really stoked to start thinking of stuff. To be honest though, I am kind of nervous about the project because I will admit, I am one of those "anti-flow" people. I am going to really try to just let go of my drawing insecurities for this project and do my best.
These are some treehouses I saw online that I really like...

2/8/2011

So our wayfinding project is moving along quite smoothly. We have decided to go full force ahead with our solution to see if it works out alright. Our solution is simply a sign in the staircase that is very clear and concise, but still has an aesthetic aspect of design. After putting our sign up, the next step will be to test it out with some new people who have never been in the A&D building. If they find the best way to room #345 by using our sign, we are golden! I thought the speaker at lecture last night was really interesting, as well as the Graphic Designer from NYC. This semester I am starting to look at Design in a whole new light. Its pretty cool. Thats all for meow.
Stay warm,
